Under the general direction of the Staff Services Manager I, the incumbent serves as the Board of Parole Hearings (BPH) Correspondence Office Technician performing various staff support functions such as email correspondence and reception center support for the headquarters office. This position requires the incumbent to maintain regular and predictable attendance and punctuality; work cooperatively with others; perform difficult clerical work; prepare correspondence independently utilizing a wide knowledge of BPH processes; communicate effectively; make clear and comprehensive reports; deal tactfully with the public; apply specific laws, rules, and office policies and procedures; provide functional guidance; evaluate situations accurately and take effective action. Use high ethical standards and confidentiality at all times while handling extensive and sensitive information.
The California Department of Corrections Rehabilitation (CDCR) Headquarters has implemented a new automated system to streamline the hiring process. The Human Resources Technology System (HRTS) is an intuitive, user-friendly system that provides the applicant access to real-time updates throughout the hiring process.
