Data Science Intern   Location: San Diego, CA

Internship Dates:  June 23 – September 12 (flexibility with dates as needed)

Neomorph is seeking a curious and motivated Data Science Intern to join our team for the summer. This internship offers a hands-on opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in targeted protein degradation, with a focus on exploring novel targets for molecular glue degraders.

Internship Project and Responsibilities:

The internship project will focus on developing automated analysis methods that support large scale screening studies to identify new candidate compounds. Key responsibilities include:

• Implement data quality assessments in SQL
• Develop statistical models in Python
• Visualize results in Tableau
• Operationalize analytics methods using a deployment framework based on the AWS technology stack

Who You Are:

• You are enrolled in a Bachelors (rising senior) or Masters program pursuing a degree in the mathematical sciences (e.g., mathematics, applied mathematics, statistics, operations research)
• You have completed upper division course (undergrad) or first year graduate course work in statistics and numerical methods
• You are proficient in python programming
• You have experience working with large data sets to perform statistical or numerical analysis, in one or more of the following contexts
  • Substantial school project
  • Prior internship
  • Hackathon or Kaggle competitions
• You are passionate about applying your quantitative skills set to scientific research which has been demonstrated through completing at least 3 semesters or 4 quarters of undergraduate course work in the natural or physical sciences (e.g., biology, chemistry, physics)
• You enjoy working collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
