Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fiber Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of fiber optic systems. This role requires a strong understanding of fiber splicing techniques, cabling, and computer networking. The Fiber Technician will work both independently and as part of a team to ensure high-quality service delivery to our clients.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair fiber optic cables and associated equipment.
  • Perform fiber splicing and testing using specialized tools such as ohmmeters and voltmeters.
  • Utilize hand tools and field service equipment to complete installations efficiently.
  • Troubleshoot network issues related to fiber optics and resolve them in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with other technicians to ensure seamless telecommunication services.
  • Document all work performed, including service reports and maintenance logs.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Fiber Technician or in a similar role within the telecommunications industry.
  • Proficiency in fiber splicing techniques and knowledge of cabling standards.
  • Familiarity with computer networking concepts, including experience with Cisco routers.
  • Ability to operate various hand tools and testing equipment such as ohmmeters and voltmeters.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel to job sites as required.
