Job Title: Director, District Event Production

Pay Details:

The annual base salary range for this position in California is $125,000 to $170,000 per year. The starting pay for the successful candidate depends on various factors, including geographic location, knowledge, skills, experience, education/training, internal value, peer equity, market demands, and organizational considerations.

The Director, District Event Production leads the strategic planning, development, and execution of a diverse range of events and programming activations that contribute to making OCVIBE a dynamic hub of creativity, hospitality, and discovery.

This role oversees the District Programming Event Production team, responsible for curating a comprehensive calendar of district-wide events aligned with OCVIBE’s brand, business objectives, and revenue goals. Events include internal marketing initiatives, community engagement programs, and philanthropic efforts in partnership with local nonprofits.

In collaboration with the District Event Activation team, this position ensures the delivery of exceptional experiences that activate assets across the campus, increase guest visitation, and support growth in revenue and brand engagement.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience in event production, creative programming, and team leadership within entertainment or hospitality sectors.

Responsibilities

Event Strategy

  • Manages a district-wide calendar strategy for programming and events, including venues, plazas, parks, paseos, and event-specific assets like the rooftop event center.
  • Identifies needs for additional event opportunities aligned with seasonal holidays, stakeholder needs, and key calendar opportunities to enhance public engagement with the OCVIBE District.
  • Drives strategic vision and aligns event strategies with overall business goals.

Brand and Industry Alignment

  • Collaborates with internal Creative, Brand, and Marketing teams to foster innovation and excellence, adopting new technologies and methodologies to enhance event experiences.
  • Stays informed about industry trends and introduces innovative ideas to maintain leadership in events and programming.
  • Develops strategies to analyze event performance, identify trends, and use insights for continuous improvement.

Leadership

  • Builds and maintains relationships with key stakeholders, including executives, clients, and industry partners.
  • Provides leadership and guidance to project teams, fostering collaboration and innovation to achieve goals.

Financial Management

  • Assists in managing P&L and forecasting events in collaboration with Finance and Operations.
  • Champions best practices and SOPs for activating event spaces, ensuring quality, consistency, and safety compliance.

Guest Service

  • Develops and mentors a high-performing team, fostering a culture of hospitality and guest service.

Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Master’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years in event management or programming, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role within entertainment, hospitality, or related industries.
  • Proven success in planning and executing large-scale events, with strong understanding of creative, operational, financial, and logistical aspects.
  • Exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to build relationships across departments.
  • A passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences aligned with company values.
